The Challenge

Atlas Copco is one of the world’s largest heavy equipment manufacturing companies with products and services ranging from compressed air and gas equipment to generators, construction and mining equipment, industrial tools and assembly systems.

Atlas Copco’s communications division is committed to improving the knowledge and effectiveness of their integrated communications division through the introduction of e-learning courses that aim to train internal staff on the importance and uniqueness of the digital medium and how to properly write for, create assets for and manage communications online.

Atlas Copco required an intelligent, creative approach to their e-learning through the use of Rich Media (Audio + Interaction) while giving them a platform that could be updated and reused effectively.

Our Approach

Next Digital designed and developed a Flash + XML based E-Learning Course incorporating voice over and a range of interactive lessons, tailored to the scripts and requirements of Atlas Copco. Using an XML based content management approach allowed Atlas Copco and Next Digital to easily modify / update and create new content without having to edit the Flash code directly.

The Results

The E-Learning course was a huge success with a total of four courses being developed thereafter. Each course offered interactive lessons ranging from simply textual input to complex drag-and-drop matching, image interaction and an interactive multi-choice quiz at the end of each course.
